Darrell Seale Recognized for Adaptive Diving and Veteran Service
Darrell Ray Seale, a retired U.S. Air Force officer, internationally certified scuba instructor, and founder of Patriot Divers 501(c)(3), is receiving recognition for more than two decades of work at the intersection of adaptive diving, veteran rehabilitation, and diver safety.

TROPHY CLUB, TX - JUNE 19, 2026 - Darrell Seale, a retired U.S. Air Force officer, PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer, and founder of Patriot Divers, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and has been recognized for more than two decades of service at the intersection of adaptive diving instruction, veteran rehabilitation, and dive safety research. With certifications from PADI, Scuba Diving International, and Technical Diving International, Seale has documented more than 300 certified students and 2,500 dives across all seven continents.

Based in Trophy Club, Texas, and with extensive experience operating across international diving environments, Darrell Seale founded Patriot Divers to address a specific gap in veteran rehabilitation services: structured, certification-based scuba therapy for wounded and disabled veterans. The organization operates under the PADI certification framework, applying externally verified instructional standards to a population for whom program credibility is a baseline requirement. Seale served as vice president and lead instructor, building a program whose outcomes are documented through student certification records and logged dives.

The recognition extends beyond the Patriot Divers program. Seale's adaptive diving work has included leadership and instructional roles with LifeWaters, Divers 4 Heroes, and the Wounded Warrior Project, organizations serving veterans with service-connected disabilities. The scope of Darrell Seale’s adaptive diving service is also reflected in the 38 specialty diving ratings he holds, including Adaptive Diving and Disabled Diver certifications that apply directly to therapeutic instruction settings.

In addition to nonprofit service, the veteran diver and instructor served as Field Research Coordinator for Divers Alert Network, contributing to global dive safety research and diver health initiatives. He was also recognized as Diver of the Year by the Lockheed Martin Dive Club and served as Director of Training and Safety for the same organization, placing formal safety leadership responsibilities alongside instructional and nonprofit commitments. In 2020, underwater video footage captured off the coast of Abu Dhabi and later featured by The National brought additional attention to Darrell Seale’s Abu Dhabi, UAE diving activity and marine conservation advocacy.
