In October 2023, Chery forged a global partnership with UNICEF (the United Nations Children's Fund) to support education programmes across the world. Since 2023, Chery has supported UNICEF in reaching nearly 40 million children and adolescents worldwide, including 17 million in emergencies, to access quality education. Some key initiatives include supporting indigenous children in Mexico to develop bilingual literacy skills, introducing innovation-powered tools into classrooms in South Africa to prepare young people with transferable skills for the future of work, and bridging the gender gap in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) for rural girls in China. Giving back to nature: Chery and IUCN join forces to safeguard our planet
For Chery, environmental protection is an innate corporate mission. Guided by the vision of "harmonious coexistence between humanity and nature", Chery signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with IUCN) on October 17, 2023, embarking on a new journey of ecological protection. In February 2024, at the OMODA brand launch event in Spain, the two parties announced a collaborative initiative to safeguard Mediterranean seagrass ecosystems, employing Nature-based Solutions (NbS) to restore vulnerable coastlines.
On October 20, 2024, Chery reached a pivotal milestone in environmental action at the "FOR US·FOR FUTURE" Chery Global User Summit. On one hand, Chery officially launched the "Cherish the Nature", committing to invest USD 3.5 million to support global ecological conservation efforts. In Southeast Asia, the Malaysia project aims to restore over 12,000 mangrove trees in Selangor, safeguarding biodiversity, enhancing coastal resilience, and mitigating climate change.
