UNIONDALE, NY / ACCESS Newswire / November 2, 2026 / Dr. Nabil El-Hag-a scientist, social entrepreneur, philanthropist and judo Olympian-has been recognized by Marquis Who's Who in America for his lifelong contributions to science, business and athletics.

His distinguished career spans food science, international business, medical technology, and educational initiatives. In his forthcoming book, "Link to Vitality," he explores the science and philosophy of lifelong wellness, drawing on decades of professional expertise and personal experimentation.

At age 78, Dr. El-Hag earned a gold medal in the M10, 100-kilogram division at the 2026 Veterans Judo Open in Houston, Texas. Decades earlier, he was Egypt's national judo champion and a member of its Olympic team. He credits judo with cultivating his character, energy, focus and humility, applying its core principles of balance and continuous improvement to both business and daily life. He defines a true champion as an athlete who pairs exceptional skills with admirable character. Dr. El-Hag believes that in life, the journey matters more than the destination

A Career Rooted in Food Science

In the 1970s, Dr. El-Hag earned two master's degrees and a doctorate from Rutgers University, specializing in nutritional biochemistry and microbiology. His doctoral research, conducted in coordination with the United Nations, examined methods to improve the nutritional value of legumes to help combat malnutrition in Africa. He went on to earn a Master of Business Administration from Fordham University and completed an executive education program at Columbia University.

Dr. El-Hag spent 13 years leading business development initiatives at General Foods and Philip Morris. His work yielded more than 20 patents and scientific publications spanning food preservation, innovative packaging and processing equipment design. His contributions earned him a Clio Packaging Award in 1985 and a DuPont Award for Packaging Innovation in 1986. He has also authored a peer-reviewed article in Science and is an inducted member of Phi Tau Sigma, the honor society for food science and technology.

Working in conjunction with an Arthur D. Little task force engaged by NASA, Dr. El-Hag contributed to research evaluating biomedical and nutritional requirements for future space station missions. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with professionals across more than 40 countries, consistently emphasizing quantitative methods and empirical results.

Later, Dr. El-Hag served as managing director of Guney Yildiz Petroleum and founded Pacific Rim Technologies and Link Advisory Group. Through these ventures, he structured cross-border partnerships in energy, telecommunications, and private equity, establishing enduring networks across Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.

Education and Medical Innovation

In the 1990s, in conjunction with the New York State Education Department and Social Services, Dr. El-Hag established Knowledge Bridge Foundation to help break the cycle of poverty through education. He launched distance-learning programs in Uganda and partnered with the United Nations Development Fund for Women (UNIFEM) to distribute affordable diagnostic kits during Africa's HIV/AIDS crisis.

Dr. El-Hag also co-founded Tecport Vision, where he serves as chairman and managing director, and he is vice chairman of Tecport Optics. Collaborating with clinical experts at the University of Utah's John A. Moran Eye Center, the team conducted foundational research that led to the development of Avulux.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration granted Avulux De Novo authorization, creating the first lens classification for migraine-associated light sensitivity. Avulux is the first and only FDA De Novo authorized precision optical filter, indicated to decrease the impact of light sensitivity in patients diagnosed with episodic migraine aged 12 years and older.

A Blueprint for Lifelong Vitality

Dr. El-Hag plans to release "Link to Vitality" before his 80th birthday. His book challenges the misconception that genetics alone dictates lifespan and health span. He maintains that lifestyle choices greatly influence epigenetics. He also employs a variety of targeted protocols aimed at supporting cellular health as it declines with age.

Drawing on nearly four decades of research, study and self-experimentation, Dr. El-Hag guides readers through developing an individualized "user manual" to audit daily habits against objective biological data.

The book centers on cellular health through a lifestyle built on four primary pillars: state of mind, nutrition, exercise and cellular housekeeping.

"I practice what I preach," Dr. El-Hag says. "Genetics is not your destiny; your lifestyle choices ultimately dictate how your biological potential unfolds."
