San Jose, Calif. - February 3, 2026 - Ecosense®, the global leader in radon detection technology, is proud to announce the expansion of the Ecosense Library Lending Program into Ohio, a state with historically high radon levels. The program now serves communities across Ohio, allowing residents to borrow professional-grade radon detectors for home radon testing from 25 libraries statewide.
Radon detector access allows families to find out whether radon gas is in their homes and affecting them, their loved ones, and even their pets. Radon gas is the leading cause of lung cancer amongst nonsmokers, something that is always a critical topic, especially in January, which is annually known as Radon Action Month. By providing free access to radon detectors, Ecosense aims to help families identify risks early, lower long-term exposure, and make informed decisions about their home’s air quality.
Ecosense’s expansion into Ohio builds on its ongoing partnership with Breath of Hope Ohio, a nonprofit organization dedicated to reducing lung cancer risks through education, early detection, and community outreach. United by a shared mission to prevent radon-related lung cancer, Ecosense has supported Breath of Hope Ohio’s awareness efforts, including its annual fundraising gala, where radon education has played a key role in engaging residents and healthcare advocates across the state.
“Through our advocacy work, Breath of Hope Ohio continues to push for greater public awareness and open dialogue around radon and its impact on lung cancer risk,” said a spokesperson for Breath of Hope Ohio. “We see Ecosense’s technology as a critical part of the overall solution, and we’re proud to advocate for community-based initiatives like the Library Lending Program that turn awareness into real, preventative action for communities across Ohio.”
“We’re especially proud to see awareness turning into real action,” said Insoo Park, CEO of Ecosense. “What began as education through Breath of Hope Ohio is now evolving into direct access — with our technology available in libraries across the state, empowering residents to take control of their indoor air health, particularly during Radon Action Month.”
Through the program, Ohio residents can borrow Ecosense EcoBlu™ radon detectors from participating libraries. The EcoBlu™ is easy to use and delivers accurate, real-time readings, helping families understand the risks of unmonitored radon. Many participants choose to continue monitoring after borrowing, as radon levels fluctuate and require ongoing tracking.
Since its launch, the Ecosense Library Lending Program has gained recognition as a model for effective public-private collaboration in environmental health. As Ohio joins the program, Ecosense continues to demonstrate how partnerships between technology companies, nonprofits, and local institutions can play a vital role in advancing community health and reducing radon-related lung cancer risks.

About Breath of Hope Ohio
Breath of Hope Ohio is dedicated to raising funds to support innovative research necessary for a cure for lung cancer. Dollars raised directly support recruiting talented researchers and advancing lung cancer research at the Thoracic Oncology Department at The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center – Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute (OSUCCC – James) for increasing awareness, driving research, finding new treatments and ultimately, a cure. The “Breath of Hope Ohio” Gala was started by Sandy and Mark Lomeo after Mark was diagnosed with lung cancer in April 2014. They were surprised to discover the lack of funding for lung cancer as compared to many other types of cancer. They decided to raise money by hosting an annual gala where researchers, caregivers, patients and professionals could come together, learn from one another and build community.
